Holding company "Cherepovetsles" is one of the largest timber industrial companies in the North-Western part of Russia. It consists of the enterprises felling timber in seven districts of the Vologda region on the territory exceeding 515 thousand ha: "Belozersky LPH", "Vaschkinsky LPH", "Babaevsky LPH", "Belozerskles", "Belousovoles".

Felling is done in accordance with principles of sustainable forest exploitation. Activities of the company are fully approved not only by environmental departments of our customers, but also by leading environmental organizations, including "Greenpeace" and "WWF". The largest timber logging company within the structure of Cherepovetsles "Belozersky LPH" was certified according to the standards defined by FSC FM and CoC. JSC "Cherepovetsles" also received FSC CoC certificate. At present the company is preparing for group voluntary certification of all the enterprises incorporated into the structure of the holding company.

The company produces annually more than 1,2 million cbm of round timber and over 70 thousand cbm of sawntimber. High quality of the products are acknowledged both by Russian and foreign customers. "Cherepovetsles" delivers timber to well-known companies in Russia, Finland, Norway, Sweden. Sawntimber is exported to Western Europe.

"Cherepovetsles" is a three-time winner of the title "The Best Russian Exporter" in timber industry (in years 1997, 1998 and 2001), that is confirmed by the diplomas of the Ministry of economic development and trade of the Russian Federation. In 2005 Cherepovetsles became the prize-winner of the national prize in the area of entrepreneurship — the "Golden Mercury" in the nomination "The best company — exporter of consumer goods production".

In 2005 JSC "Cherepovetsles" received the certificate on conformity to ISO 9001:2000 standard for quality management system. The following services were certificated: services on preparation, conclusion and complete handling of contracts on timber supply including production control, storing, shipment, transportation and customs clearance of timber products.
