The mission of "Cherepovetsles" that determines further development strategy of the company is to supply customers with environmentally sound high quality timber products produced by using modern wasteless technologies.

For the period 2000-2005 "Cherepovetsles" is planning gradual introduction of Scandinavian felling technology, creation of new woodworking enterprises for sawntimber and value-added timber-based products production, construction of energy objects and forest-roads.

We are sure that future belongs to those timber industrial companies which are trying to expand their activities and introduce modern technologies. The enterprises specializing only in timber felling will not be able to maintain leading positions in timber industry. We have to move forward if we want to develop further.

Strategic program is being implemented using the experience acquired during the period of the company's operation. Currently "Cherepovetsles" has well-known and respected name; its own raw material basis; close location to customers; stable financial position; well-organized export channels.

Our management is aimed at results. The efforts of specialists are oriented at developing of new ideas, high-quality products, service improvement. Highly skilled specialists trained in Russia, Germany, Japan, Norway and USA are working at solving these tasks.

Further improvement of the staff's qualification (administration and employees) is one of the priority directions in the company's strategy.

One more direction that characterizes our today's work and will influence our future activity, concerns environmental issues. "Cherepovetsles" is implementing only those projects which answer modern environmental requirements.

Our concept of development takes into consideration all these factors. The intention is to create vertically integrated structure, uniting timber logging and woodworking (value-added timber production) enterprises.

We are planning to take leading positions in sawntimber market in the North-Western region of Russia during the next several years. Our ambitions are based on the results of sawmill's operation, that started to operation in 2001 in Nizhnaya Mondoma (Belozersky district). The plan is to build sawmills in some several timber logging enterprises within the company. Pilot-project for broadleaf (birch, aspen) sawntimber production is introduced at "Belozerskles".

Long term concept of development envisages also processing of new value-added timber-based products that will allow the company to organize high-profitable wasteless production using low grade timber and forest and sawmill waste.
