1929
Cherepovetsky timber logging company (TLC) started to operate in October. The main tasks were: organization of timber felling, timber floating and forestry.
1931
Boom company was organized on the basis of Cherepovetsky TLC. In 5 years it became the leading enterprise within trust company "Cherepovetsles". But still boom company is engaged in timber floating along 35 rivers with total length of floatable ways of about 2000 km.
1933
Cherepovetsky TLC is developing production of railway sleepers. Machine for production of broad and narrow sleepers, switch ties and sawn timber began to operate at Suda railway station. During the first year of operation 45 th. sleepers were produced.
1937
The name of "Cherepovetsles" is officially registered. Trust company with the same name is organized on basis of the boom company.
1941
In several months after the beginning of the War an evacuating hospital, where injured soldiers were cured, was organized in the office building of "Cherepovetsles", Lenina str., 80. The company's timber operations are continued.
1942
The trust company was awarded with the Red Banner of defense for its work under severe war conditions.
1945
The company is returning to peaceful life and summing up results of War years. During the period from 1941 till 1945 more than 70 workers of the trust company, including 41 women have been rewarded with orders and medals.
1950
The company is back to prewar volumes of production. In comparison with 1946 all the production indexes have been increased in 2,5 times.
1977
Ministry of forest and wood working industry of the USSR issues the Order No. 166 (the purpose of this document is to stimulate development of wood working enterprises.) As the result, the trust company "Cherepovetsles" was transformed to large structure — industrial logging association with the same name. In addition to Cherepovets Boom company and a number of other timber logging enterprises, Zhelyabov timber factory and Suda house-building company were included into the enlarged "Cherepovetsles". Association began to produce large amounts of logs, boards, chips, parts for houses and school desks, box containers.
1981
Association "Cherepovetsles" fulfilled the planned targets. That is why it is rewarded with the honorary diploma of the Russian Federation government. The same year the Labour Museum was founded exhibiting photos and illustrations, production awards and etc..
1982
In January the first issue of corporation newspaper "Worker of forest" came out. At its pages the editorial staff proclaims that it will publish not only information about labour successes but also "Everything that creates obstacles to carry out taken socialistic obligations, state plans and tasks… all these will be severely criticized." Both association and newspaper ceased to exist in 1991.
1991
Privatization has begun in Russia. On the ground of Ministerial Order timber industry associations including "Cherepovetsles" are reformed. Suda house-building complex and Zhelyabov timber factory began to work independently. As for timber logging companies, they continue to operate within the reformed timber industrial association "Cherepovetsles" on a voluntary basis.
1994
Another birthday of the company. The association is reformed into timber industrial holding company "Cherepovetsles".
1997
The company is acknowledged as "The Best Russian Exporter" in timber industry. This title is confirmed by the Diploma of the Ministry of foreign economic affairs and trade of the Russian Federation.
1998
The company is acknowledged as "The Best Russian Exporter" for the second time.
1999
Activities of the company are approved by international environmental organization "Greenpeace".
2001
Modern sawmill in Nyzhnaya Mondoma (Belozersk region) starts to operate in July. The sawmill is financed by "Cherepovetsles". It is equipped with modern machinery with annual production capacity minimum 60 000 cbm of sawn timber.
2002
The company's business with foreign buyers was acknowledged with high appreciation by the Ministry of economic development and trade of the Russian Federation. The company is awarded with the title "The best Russian exporter" again.
2003
«Expert RA» rating agency on the initiative of the World Wild nature Fund (WWF) ascribed one of the leading positions in rating of ecological responsibility to «Cherepovetsles». Cherepovetsles was ascribed rating «Eco-A», that means that the level of ecological responsibility of the company is considered to be rather high and ecological risks are low.
