The governor of the Vologda region Vyacheslav Pozgalev has visited sawmill and felling sites of "Belozersky LPH".

During this visit Mr.Pozgalev collected materials for a speech he will take at the meeting of the heads of North-Western federal district subjects to be chaired by the President of the Russian Federation. According to the Governor, one of the questions for discussion on April 11, 2003 will be development of timber industry of Russia. To solve this issue correctly, "it is very important to listen to people which are directly engaged in timber industry".

The Governor has explained visit to "Belozersky LPH" by the following reasons: "It is the largest timber logging enterprise in the region with the best economic indexes. Labor organization is on a rather high level here and it can serve as an example for other enterprises."

The company has experience in using secondary resources (sawdust) as fuel for heat production. I wanted to have a look at operation of such boiler at the sawmill because its pay-back period is impressive and we are going to introduce this positive experience in the region.

In general I think that this visit in Belozersky district was rather useful".
