"Expert RA" rating agency estimated ecological rating of "Cherepovetsles" at more higher level - ecoA+. The level of ecological responsibility of the company is considered to be high.
Ecological risks, connected with the production activity of the company, system of ecological management and also the degree of transparency of the companys activity in the sphere of nature protection, are insignificant.
High level of forestry and the companys activity in the field of the enterprises included in holding certification influenced positively on ascribing higher ecological rating. Not only 40% of leasehold forestland but also Chain-of-Custody process were certified in 2003-2004.

"Belosersky LPH", the biggest timber logging company within the structure of the holding, received the internationally recognized FSC Forest Management certificate for 220 thousand ha of its forestlands.
Thus, the logging company became one of the first in the Vologda region to verify the compliance of its activity to economical, environmental and social standards of sustainable forest management affirmed by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) The assessment of the compliance to international standards was carried out by the auditing company SGS. The main audit was completed in April and the certificate was issued and signed on August 25, 2004.

More than three hundred drawings made by schoolchildren from Babaevsky, Belozersky and Vashkinsky districts, were presented to Cherepovetsles within the competition on the subject "The murmur of the forest".
It was not easy to choose the best from such amount of works. That’s why some of the prizes were divided among two winners and almost one hundred children received presents. Rewarding of the best competitors was timed to the Children’s Day and was carried out in three districts within the period from the 25th of May till the 1st of June.

"Cherepovetsles" has got the certificate as the Member of the Association of Environmentally Responsible Timber Producers of Russia
In May the representatives of the Association finished express-evaluation of the enterprises' activities. At the ceremony of presentation of the certificate Andrei Ryzhkov, the coordinator of the Association of the environmentally responsible timber producers of Russia, noted: "Today this company is better than many other members of the Association as for the quality of forest management. What we have seen here makes us to think it over. Usually we go to Sweden or Finland to gain experience. May be, it is worth going here"

Timber Logging Company "Belosersky LPH" has passed the main audit to verify compliance of forest management with the by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Principles & Criteria on the territory of 220 thousand ha.
During the week the commission of SGC experts has been gathering necessary information. The auditors visited felling sites and inspected the implementation of the system that is aimed at assistance to natural reforestation and the results of its application, had a talk with workers, local population, foresters, studied necessary documentation and evaluated the company's activity.

One of the conditions stipulated in the contract on purchase of Timberjack timber felling machinery and equipment by the enterprises of the Vologda region will be its servicing at "Timberjack-Belozerskles" service center.
Such statement was made by general director of sales department in Russia Errki Enkola. He visited Belozersk together with service manager Patrick Rajva. They inspected service center opened a year ago on the basis of one of Cherepovetsles enterprises. The visitors estimated location of the center from geographical point of view, quality of servicing, had a talk with mechanics and came to conclusion to continue cooperation.
