The Babaevsky Forestry Enterprise project is included in the list of priority forest development projects. Its main goal is the modernization of the existing logging enterprise and the creation of production capacities for the production of 250 thousand m³ of sawn timber per year, 50 thousand tons of wood pellets per year, 143.7 thousand m³ of technological chips per year, and providing comprehensive processing of wood raw materials.

The total project investments are 5.2 billion rubles. The construction period is 2021-2024. 224 new jobs will be created. Nowadays the priority list of forest development investment projects in Russia includes 160 projects, and 23 of them are being implemented in the Vologda Region.
