The modernization of the sawmill production in Sheksna is in full swing
Region Governor Deputy Mikhail Glazkov met the management of OOO "Koskisilva" company, which is part of the Cherepovetsles holding company.
Earlier, the Finnish company was engaged only in lumber production, but after the departure of a foreign company from the Russian market, the company was bought out by the Cherepovetsles holding, and already in early July 2022, the shareholders decided to develop and implement an investment project of technical re-equipment of OOO "Koskisilva" with the organization of planed lumber production.
The Weinig company plane lumber production technology was chosen for the project implementation. At the same time, the rest of the auxiliary equipment complex is being developed and supplied by a domestic manufacturer – the ASP company (Vologda).
During August - September of 2022, the existing outdated sawmill line was dismantled. Construction and installation work began in October.
The total amount of investments in the modernization of production will exceed 100 million rubles. The introduced production facilities will allow to produce up to 55 thousand m3 of planed products per year.
"The main equipment has already arrived. According to the company's management, the new line will be launched by the summer of this year. The company will produce competitive products with a highly diluted value. At the same time, an important factor is that production will operate using waste-free technology, which is a priority for the efficient use of forest resources," Deputy Governor Mikhail Glazkov said during a working visit to the enterprise.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the work of the enterprise in the new economic conditions and prospects for its further development.
It should be noted that currently the team has 34 employees engaged in preparing the site for the implementation of technical re-equipment investment project. The number of employees will be doubled with entering production facilities.
In the future, the company is considering the implementation of the following investment project – the organization of a railway container terminal for the formation of trains to ship timber and lumber for export to the EurAsEC countries and friendly non-CIS countries.
